Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals facing mental health challenges, addiction issues, and behavioral health concerns. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in crisis intervention and management. Your expertise will help empower clients to navigate their challenges and achieve their personal goals.

Duties

  • Offer emotional and practical support to individuals in recovery by sharing personal experiences and strategies for overcoming challenges.
  • Develop trust and rapport with clients to foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
  • Encourage hope, empowerment, and self-determination by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
  • Help clients navigate healthcare, social services, and community resources, advocating for their needs when necessary.
  • Assist clients in understanding their conditions, coping mechanisms, and available resources.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and resources for clients.
  • Maintain records of interactions and progress while adhering to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist.

  • Training in trauma-informed care, confidentiality, and ethics (often provided or required by employers).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
