Position Summary
The Abundant Life Program Manager position is full-time, 40 hours per week (non-exempt, benefits eligible) and will take place at our New Life Centers locations. The Abundant Life Program Manager will be tasked with ensuring all cohort participants get the most out of their program experience. This position will be responsible for coordinating all logistical aspects of programming (scheduling, booking venues, preparing for milestone check-ins, etc.). Will require some local travel (reimbursable). Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person.
Job Responsibilities
- Executing all six-month accelerators and three-day Boost programs.
- Leading the process of recruitment, selection, and onboarding of cohort SEs and mentors (in collaboration with NLC team members and community volunteers).
- Facilitating program-related events such as milestone check-ins, pre-program orientations, post-program check-ins, etc.
- Communicating clear expectations to SEs about what they need to produce and where their organizations need to be in order to qualify and move through NLC programming.
- Keeping SEs on track as they progress through curriculum milestones within each program and as they graduate from one program to the next.
- Assist the Abundant Life Director with developing standard operating procedures (SOP) to maximize SE/mentor relations, including mentor onboarding/training.
- Works with the Abundant Life Director to develop materials for promotion of programs and cohorts.
- Assists the Abundant Life Director to recruit/select/support partner-driven industry-specific programming.
- Represent NLC by attending events and being active in the local community and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Support the Abundant Life Director with developing of presentation decks, case study materials, and templates.
- Help facilitate the collection of impact metrics and surveys of both SEs and mentors.
- Help to gather mentors to represent an “investor audience” for enterprise presentation rehearsal/feedback sessions alongside the Abundant Life Director.
- Understanding of and alignment with NLC’s mission, values, and model.
- Supporting all involved stakeholder in addressing challenges and removing barriers as needed to drive accomplishments.
- Recording and updating process resources including insight, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting relationship between NLC staff, clients, mentors, and partners.
- Working cross culturally and communicating with understanding to a diverse group of community members.
- Maintains accuracy of budget and spending plan as needed.
- Participates in required evaluations and audits when necessary.
- Demonstrates New Life Centers’ values.
- Attends required meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must become a Certified Mandated Reporter. Training provided.
- Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases.
- Must pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
- Must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
- Must have a working phone and phone number.
- One year experience working in the human services field in a capacity that involves direct services to at-risk youth.
- Cross-cultural competency.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Must be willing to be trained and proficiently utilize Microsoft 365 and other information tracking systems relevant to duties.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Must keep confidentiality of participant information.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license. Ability to travel to different sites as needed. Subject to driving background check.
- Must have access to a vehicle in order to visit sites as needed.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
