The New Vecinos Program will empower residents to own their own journey towards independence while taking advantage of the varied and impactful services provided by Illinois Department of Human Services partners including New Life Centers. New Life Centers will provide direct services related to holistic wellness and community connections that provide a safety net of support for our neighbors in the Chicagoland area. Programming and connections will aim at the development of life skills necessary for resiliency and forward movement, will help build community to mitigate isolation and anxiety, will promote wellness and mental health, and will help serve as a deterrent to violence and domestic abuse.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager position is full-time, temporary, 40 hours per week (exempt, benefits eligible). The Warehouse Manager will supervise a team of staff and volunteers responsible for warehouse operations, donations, and community connections. The Warehouse Manager will support the collaboration with IDHS, New Life Centers, partner organizations and business, and neighbors. May require some local travel (reimbursable). Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee a team responsible for warehouse operations, including inventory, logistics, and donations.
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.
- Collaborates with Warehouse Assistant Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the warehouse.
- Clearly communicates goals and objectives to team and maintains staff accountability.
- Produces documents, receipts, and correspondence as necessary for consistent evaluation and timely report submittal.
- Provides regular follow up with staff and supervisor to meet goals and maintain team wellness.
- May create performance plans with team members to increase positive personal development and training as needed.
- Assures the highest quality of customer service and hospitality to residents.
- Maintains accuracy of budget and spending plan and assures team is spending within target.
- Approves credit card report(s) and timecards as applicable.

- Responsible for maintaining the overall direction of the program's vision.

- Participates in required surveys, evaluations, and audits.
- Demonstrates New Life Centers’ values.
- Attends required meetings and training.
- Addresses communications and concerns with IDHS and NLC when required.
- Assures accurate tracking of services to residents and all other data and reporting requirements.
- Communicates with Warehouse Assistant Director and leadership team regularly to assure goal attainment and address program/staff/resident needs.
- Assists the NLC team and volunteers in maintaining healthy boundaries and self-wellness.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must become a Certified Mandated Reporter. Training provided.
- Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases.
- Must pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
- Must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
- Must have access to a working phone and phone number.
- Cross-cultural competency.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be willing to be trained, and proficiently utilize database(s) and information tracking systems relevant to duties.
- Must keep confidentiality of participant information.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license, insurance, good driving record, access to a vehicle.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
