MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinate and direct on-site event operations and provide support to event organizers, MCCNO operation teams, and other personnel including, but not limited to; security staff, crowd management personnel, contractors, vendors, and show decorators.
- Clearly communicate facility rules and regulations, and policies and procedures for use of the convention center to clients and the general public.
- Ensure event vendors knowledge of and compliance with all applicable regulations to ensure fire and safety policies and procedures are met.
Support department management and senior-level staff with the daily operations and execution of all logistical aspects for events.
Review and compile client specifications, services orders, and plans to ensure all necessary information is included and easily retrievable.Input event information and specifications to the Event Management System.Oversee set-up and breakdown, pre-event, on-site, and post-event activity to ensure all event spaces are set up in accordance with client requirements.Stay informed of all event-related information so that information is disseminated to appropriate personnel / department in a prompt, accurate manner.Prepare invoices and assist the Assistant Director with billing and close out of events.Properly communicate issues to show management and MCCNO staff.
Foresee problems and head off through proper planning and anticipation of problems or issues.Evaluate issues or problems and make decisions based on information at hand or by communicating with Event Manager and other pertinent departments.Submit event progress reports to Event Managers noting up to date information and client requests.
Assist Event Services staff with departmental tasks and special projects as needed.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations with a goal of having the client become or continue as a repeat customer. Able to deal with difficult people.Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, multi-task, perform under minimal supervision and work extended / irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays.Able to use graphic instructions, such as layouts and set up plans.
