Description

This position is a key resource for facilitating and executing effective product creation and launch ensuring first production runs are executed efficiently and free of issues. The Quality and EHS Manager position supports a cross-functional team to clarify needs, communicate supplier commitments, generate and manage safety and quality policies for new product launches, and manage ongoing production and customer interactions as well of maintaining the ISO culture in the building and creating an ongoing effect to strive for continuous improvement and excellence in our quality management system.

Essential Job Functions

  • Follow all ISO requirements for working in a forming manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and implement protocols, work instructions and procedure related to quality including production reports, control plans, inspection and equipment training guides, sampling, etc.
  • Assist in the completion of first article inspection reports, capability studies and design of experiments.

  • Manage projects related to continuous improvement of validation processes, assembly processes and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for accurate production/ quality documentation and submittal to department manager for approval.
  • Support the QMS system ensuring compliance with applicable regulations through proper documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Partner with Planning, Engineering and Operations in launch of new products to meet introduction timelines, cost and quality goals.
  • Understand and communicate specifications, as well as design changes to the production floor and other departments as needed.
  • Promote Operational Excellence and 6S initiatives by maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Promote, support and participate in idea creation for new policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and facilitate greater utilization of labor and resources.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in the planning, development and launch of new programs/projects to make them more efficient form a quality standpoint.
  • Achieving desired results in safety by demonstrating personal commitment and leading safety processes to sustain a safe work environment.
  • Manage EHS department and working collaborative with all areas of the company, teaching, training and developing a safe and accident free workplace complying with all safety protocols and regulatory needs.
  • Implement and coordinate department safety education and processes in accordance with company best practices and policies.
  • Achieve OSHA compliance and perform regular audits to improve safety and reduce accident rates.
  • Supports organizational direction and initiatives to meet department goals.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving, decision making and recognizing them for outstanding work during daily pre-shift communication meetings and ongoing developmental 1:1’s
  • Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating information with internal and external customers.
  • Support culture and maintain a strong focus on housekeeping within the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer in an ISO certified plastic environment.
  • Working application of quality tools including 5S, Lean and SPC.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through various methods with engineering teams, production and customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3 years of experience in EHS role.
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage timelines, customer requirements and workflow requirements and priorities.
  • Ability to perform effectively and independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively cross-functionally.
  • High ethical standards
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
