This position is responsible for managing the collection department operations which includes ensuring regulatory compliance, budget, achievement of collection goals for homologous and apheresis collections, quality control, and maintaining adequate staffing and competency levels.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with all functions of the collections department including SOPs, cGMPs, documentation and records maintenance and FDA regulations.
- Ensures completion of instigation, corrective actions and follow-up for all deviations/audit/ or regulatory findings.
- Assists with agency inspections.
- Works with internal staff in the achievement of collection goals including promoting the use of automated technology and donor conversion.
- Communicates with internal and external customers regarding best practices and the resolution of problems within the business unit.
- Oversees the records maintenance of all apheresis and collections documents
- Oversee documentation of CLIA forms
- Serves as a resource to collection's supervisors
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Related Experience:
- Five years of experience in blood banking operations or closely related fields which must include managerial/supervisory experience.
- One-year supervisory experience required.
- College degree business or biological sciences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Blood collections - experience as a collection supervisor is a plus.
- Management/Supervisory experience.
- CBC, FDA, AABB, and OSHA regulations.
Required Licenses / Certification:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- CPR Certification preferred. Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $100,000.00 p/yr to $110,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
