Duties Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Regional Director for NYS OPRHP – Taconic Region, the incumbent’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform a variety of troubleshooting tasks on regional computers and informational technical systems (printers, scanners, copiers, cell phones, tablets, laptops etc.).
- Assist the Regional Office with onboarding and off boarding users into the ITS portal.
- Assist regional Parks users with logon to system as onboarded, activating RSA tokens, establishing printer and peripheral connection, and mapping drives as needed.
- Setting up new users with their computer workstations, including desk and/or cell phones and any other needed peripheral.
- Help users to navigate the NYS ITS web portal and ticketing system while being able to prioritize user needs.
- Responding to requests for assistance with failing IT equipment and travel throughout the region as needed.
- Troubleshoot and advise others with confidence and professionalism.
- Participate in and complete training programs as instructed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.
- High School diploma or equivalent; OR A.S. college degree in Computer Science (or working toward hat degree) preferred; OR 1-year in a Computer Repair program at a technical school or working toward the Comp TIA A certification examination.
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor tasks.
- Reads and understands written instructions and material.
- Communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner under stressful conditions.
Additional Comments
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs and emergencies.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US Driver’s License as a term and condition of appointment.
