OVERVIEW
The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist will be to assist in completing the payables process in a timely manner according to GAAP practices and standards. This role requires a high level of efficiency, organization, time management, excellent communication, and great interpersonal and customer service skills. The successful candidate must work well independently and be a self-starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices through our finance system for weekly check, ACH, and EFT payments for assigned vendors.
- Researching invoice and statement discrepancies.
- Create, update, and maintain vendor profiles for accurate information for assigned vendors.
- Oversee the Amazon Business Prime account and other vendor business accounts.
- Monitor reimbursements through the employee reimbursement management system.
- Assist with 1099 audit and preparation.
- Assist with annual audit preparation.
- Other miscellaneous administrative duties including working closely with the Finance Team for special projects.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of basic accounts payable, finance principles and concepts, as well as accrual accounting principles and practices.
- Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office 365 products
- Knowledge of general ledger software packages and database experience a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work effectively under pressure, and remain organized.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED with 3-5 years of related experience, or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other mathematical discipline with 1-2 years of related experience.
