Overview
The IT Analyst role will provide a wide range of support and customer service on various hardware and software issues in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Support client computer user productivity and environment, focusing on resolution of computer software and hardware problems.
Responsibilities
Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing facility and maintain a safety-first mentality on every task. Strong knowledge and support of PC hardware and software while maintaining SLA’s
- Basic PC/Laptop and network troubleshooting and repair
- Peripheral support to include printers, faxes, projectors, etc.
- PC/Laptop and peripheral setup and upgrades, as directed
- Application support and installation
- Log all calls and actions taken
- Maintain PC inventories and pertinent data (spreadsheet with description/user/location). Keep the IT environments clean and well-managed
- Image or configure PC’s, perform PC imaging or reloading, as needed
- Evaluate existing systems
- virus and security updates are current
- check the overall health of the system
- review installed software for health, relevance, need and licensing
- Store and recycle old equipment
- Backup Monitoring and tape exchange, as directed
- Be prepared to be on call and to work with technical support from corporate or elsewhere
- Be prepared to travel to Port Arthur or to Houston Sales Office (The Woodlands)
- Assisting with DCS (Control Systems) documentation and support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a helpdesk or IT support environment
- Microsoft Certified Professional
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Associates Degree in IT

- Travel 25% - to Port Arthur, TX, and Houston Sales office (The Woodlands)
- Willingness to be on call and travel to the plant after hours as required.
