Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Junior Counselor
Reports To: Space Camp Director
Summary: SPACE’s Junior Counselor position is for high school students entering 10th-12th grades. Junior counselors are responsible for assisting lead classroom teachers, engaging with campers and ensuring camper safety. Junior counselors work with lower campers and teachers. Hours of work are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a half-hour lunch break.
Qualifications:
- Desire to work with children
- Currently attending high school
- Responsible and reliable
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
- Assist the lead classroom teacher
- Engage with campers
- Ensure camper safety
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a school/classroom environment, as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
