We are seeking a Clinical Specialist to collaborate with the Regional Sales Director and Territory Manager within a defined geographic area. The role involves engaging with existing and potential clients (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) to understand their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care. The Clinical Specialist will demonstrate how our products can help achieve their goals and meet patient / client needs. By providing case coverage, this role will contribute to achieving sales goals, company objectives, and increasing sales revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Territory Manager to provide effective case coverage and ensure positive clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Serve as the primary resource for clinical support, including coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.
  • Keep customers informed about the latest product, therapy, and technology developments in the industry through active procedural and technical discussions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to link clinical data to key messaging.
  • Meet with existing and potential customers to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care, and provide creative and feasible solutions using company products.
  • Transfer account knowledge and other requested information to the local Territory Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and a strong clinical orientation to effectively influence a variety of clinician, nurse, and lab tech personality types.

Qualifications :

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships while handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in business communication and grammar.
  • Attention to detail to maintain records and process reports.
  • Knowledge of MS Office systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the medical device market, products, and territory's customer base.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Education and Experience :

  • BA / BS or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Medical training (RN, cath lab technician, etc.) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, preferably in the medical industry.
  • Strong clinical orientation with experience in products used for interventional cardiology and / or cardiac surgery strongly preferred.
  • Skills :

  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to establish personal credibility in the targeted territory to deliver our message to clinical staff, administrators, and physicians, and overcome obstacles.
  • Emotional intelligence to manage schedule effectively and efficiently.
  • Previous industry experience, preferably in the Cardiovascular space, calling on Interventional Cardiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, administrators, and clinical staff members.
  • Previous experience with vessel closure is preferred.
  • Previous experience providing clinical education and training to staff members is preferred.
  • Values teamwork and collaboration internally and externally with customers.
