A highly successful construction company is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Controller to join their talented and friendly team. The Construction Controller will oversee the financial operations of the company and must have a strong background in construction accounting.
Construction Controller Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports for construction projects
- Month end close reconciliations and journal entries
- Job cost reporting & budgeting
- Cash flow management including projections to ensure projects are adequately funded
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards
- Construction loan draws
- Maintain internal controls and integrity of financial data
- Work cross functionally with project management
- Management of Accounts Payable Specialist
- Shareholder distributions
- Tax and audits
- Risk management
Construction Controller Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA a plus
- 10 years of progressive Accounting & Finance experience
- 5 years experience in construction accounting
- Strong knowledge of job costing, project management and financial reporting, specifically in regard to the construction industry
- Management experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and to set priorities
- Systems savvy
