The Community Liaison is responsible for organizing outreach efforts, fostering relationships with local organizations, and ensuring that disaster response services reach those in need. This role focuses on expanding community engagement, facilitating resource access, and strengthening partnerships to support disaster survivors.The community liaison will serve all of the following counties: Fulton, Newton and Butts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute community awareness events to promote disaster response services and mental health resources.
- Engage with local organizations, including faith-based groups, nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies, to expand outreach efforts and build partnerships.
- Collect and assess community feedback to enhance program visibility, effectiveness, and accessibility.
- Facilitate program entry into local communities, ensuring disaster response services reach underserved populations.
- Provide intensive resource linkage for disaster survivors who struggle to access relief assistance, connecting them with appropriate support services.
- Network with community resources to establish and maintain effective referral mechanisms for mental health, housing, financial aid, and other essential services.
- Train crisis counselors and service providers on available community resources, referral processes, and best practices for connecting clients to support services.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in community engagement, public relations, advocacy, or outreach coordination.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills to collaborate with diverse community partners.
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities to engage stakeholders and conduct training sessions.
- Knowledge of disaster relief programs and community resource navigation (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, outreach-driven environment.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Community Development, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
