Job Title: Community Liaison

Job Description The Community Liaison is responsible for fostering strong community ties and enhancing communication between The Wright Community School and the local community. This role focuses on community outreach, relationship building, and support for school enrollment processes. Key Responsibilities 1. Community Outreach: Engage actively with families, parents, and community members to create awareness about The Wright Community School and its educational offerings. This includes outdoor canvassing, tabling at events, phone banking, and outreach calls to district parents. 2. Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive relationships with local community leaders, neighborhood associations, religious groups, and other influential figures to support the school's integration into the community. 3. Enrollment Support: Assist in increasing school enrollment by collaborating with school founders, guiding and assisting parents through the enrollment process, and addressing any questions or concerns. 4. Founder Support: Aid school founders in connecting with different community leaders and attending events to effectively engage with the community. 5. Meeting Participation: Attend weekly meetings with school founders and the charter engagement team to discuss outreach strategies, share updates, and address any challenges. Requirements
- Passion for Education: Strong dedication to education and improving educational opportunities for children.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse groups.
- Experience: Previous experience in community outreach, parent involvement, or related fields is preferred.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with local community dynamics and educational challenges is beneficial.
- Time Management: Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, committing up to 10 hours per week to the position. Additional Activities
- Canvassing: Door-to-door engagement to inform and organize community members about The Wright Community School.
- Tabling at Events: Set up informational tables at various community events such as farmer's markets, school fairs, fundraisers, and more, to educate the public about the school. This position is crucial for ensuring The Wright Community School remains connected and responsive to the needs and aspirations of the community it serves, embodying our vision to empower students to become proactive, innovative, literate, organized, and tenacious scholars. Compensation This is a contracted position through July 2025, with an hourly rate of $62 per event (minimum of two hours) . Upon completion of the contract period, there is an opportunity to transition to a salaried role starting at $50,000 annually.
