Nextdoor offers a warm and inclusive work environment that embraces a hybrid employment experience.We are looking for an experienced ads technology engineering leader to lead and manage a highly impactful team in ads responsible for building Nextdoor adserver and runtime optimization through pacing, bidding and targeting algorithms while collaborating with product, data science and ML teams.The Impact You’ll MakeAds serving and optimization team builds ads core platform and algorithms that delivers advertiser outcomes to generate ROI for their campaigns and partners closely with AI and DS teams to build algorithms to drive user relevance.The leader in this role will be responsible for envisioning the marketplace improvements, align stakeholders and collaborate with peer teams to generate outcomes. They will be responsible for team management and coaching senior engineers to achieve their maximum potential.Reporting to the Head of Monetization Engineering, you will drive projects to deliver value to our large ads customers and small businesses.Your responsibilities will include : Developing and leading a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team through recruiting and mentorshipBuilding technical roadmap, architecture review as well as execution of deliverables of Ads Marketplace team.Responsibility for compliance based on platform guidelines and regulations, GDPR, CCPA etcPartnering and collaborating with cross-functional product, engineering, and sales teams across the company to build the roadmap and support operationsParticipation in the in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercisesBuilding strong relationship with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values What You’ll Bring To The Team5 years of industry experience building large-scale systems.3 years of engineering management experience leading high-performing teams.Ads domain expertise and tuned to industry trends.Clear, concise communication and presentation skills, demonstrating grace under pressureAbility to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic work environmentGenuine curiosity and a hunger for learningStrong desire to serve local communities and neighbors worldwideBonus PointsExperience building products for large-scale social platformsExperience with Kafka streams, Dynamo, Redis or similar technologiesCompensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $208,000 to $280,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.We have you covered!
