Position Specific Description

Our Network Engineering team has an opening for a Principal Network Security Engineer with 7 years' experience in the field. This individual should have a deep understanding of hybrid cloud security architecture while leveraging best of breed security services and products from AWS, Check Point, Palo Alto and Cisco.
- This position will have influence over the security strategy, design, implementation and maintainance of the security network infrastructure that supports NextEra Energy and its subsidiaries - Florida Power & Light (FPL) and / or Nextera Entergy Resources (NEER).
- The position reports directly to the IT Network Manager with work locations available in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties.
- In this position you will work with some of the brightest minds in the clean energy and utility industry as they work to ensure NextEra is the largest and most capable clean energy provider in North America and the best electric utility in the world.
Job Overview
This role is responsible for assisting with the design, leading the implementation, and supporting the maintenance of our enterprise network infrastructure. Employees in this role work directly with management, project managers, and business leaders to ensure that projects are successfully delivered on-time and within budget. This position acts as an escalation point for issues that are encountered in our 24x7 environment to ensure that the availability and performance of our systems is maintained. Employees also ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date and that our infrastructure remains secure at all times.
