Position Overview:
In support of the TSA Warehouse, Inventory Specialists have a diverse set of duties in carrying out the needs of the customer. Warehouse operations include receiving, staging, storing, packaging, distribution, inventory, accounting, shipping and disposal of Government property. The warehouse is regularly staffed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday, with on-call response within 2 hours, upon notification of the TSA COTR, for urgent property shipments and receipts that occur outside normal hours of operations. This position is also governed by the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act. All COVID-19 protocols apply. Vaccination status may be requested for entry in to TSA facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Unload and load carrier shipments and inspect for damages all property delivered to the warehouse. Verify quantities and check the shipments for visual damage, before accepting the shipment.
- Provide assistance to the company (typically the equipment manufacturer) designated by TSA to dissassemble, remove and dispose of hazardous materials within Government Property.
- Document the contents of each vehicle (e.g. item, serial number, if applicable, quantity, etc.) when loading dispositioned property.
- Retain two copies of the DD-1348-1a for pending disposal actions.
- Perform disposal activities upon receipt of Department of Defense (DoD) DD-1348-1a stage, segregate, unpack, and remove all markings identifying TSA as the owner, and all radiation/hazmat decals.
- The Contractor shall complete a Report of Survey (ROS) for all lost, damaged, destroyed, and/or stolen Government property.
- Participate in annual audits in accordance with ISO 9000:2008, with a 98% accuracy rate. Remove property from shelves/racks/bins and arrange it to allow for barcode scanning by Government personnel. Return property to its original location after scanning.
- Store property consistent with industry best practices, appropriate Federal/State Regulations, and/or Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) standards (where applicable).
- Remove from the warehouse and dispose of all dunnage/ packaging materials no less frequently than weekly.
-Distribute property as mandated by the contract, stage and package property using the appropriate packaging standards (e.g., MIL-STD-2073, JAN-P-100, and OEM), when required. Load property onto scheduled carrier’s vehicle(s).
- Fill out the designated sections of the electronic DD-1149 within 2 hours after all loading activities are completed, with a minimum accuracy rate of 98%.
Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 40 lbs or more
- Previous experience in property management and warehouse operations preferred
- At least 6 months forklift experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Property Management Systems
