Game Master

Nexus Escape Room is a family owned business by a husband and wife team. We are looking for outgoing, friendly candidates who will help us ensure our guests have an amazing experience. This is an on-call part time job.

Ideal Candidates:

- Outgoing & friendly. Not afraid to speak in front of groups. This is important.

- Live no more than 5 miles from our location. Please don't bother applying if you live further away. Simply put: We don't want to burden someone by having to drive 20-30 minutes for a shift. Traffic sucks.

- Passion for escape rooms is preferred, but not required.

-Interested in STEM or engineering in general is a significant plus. This would be a great job to learn alot at.

- For this position you could expect 10 - 20 hours. Definitely NO MORE than 25 hours a week.

- Must be at least 18 years old, as we have an adult themed room

Job Description:

- Greeting guests in a friendly & personable manner. Checking in guests, taking payment for additional players, ensuring guests fill out waivers, going over rules.

- Gamemastering (monitoring) guests during their experience via audio & video. Keeping track of their progress and providing hints and nudges as needed. Ensure everything is running smoothly & correctly during their experience.

- Greet guests after their experience. Answer any questions they may have about the experience. Take their team photo after the experience.

- Reset rooms after each experience in an efficient & detail oriented manner. Ensure rooms are clean of any trash and dust as needed.

-Helping build/replace props as needed in the rooms (basically Arts & Crafts).

- Answer questions/make reservations as needed on the phone.

- Clean the lobby, restrooms, control room, etc. Basically, cleaning in general.

- Be able to interact with children, including hyper active kids that are poorly raised.

Other Things Worth Mentioning:

• Hours are based on bookings and on demand, making this an on-call position. Minimum of 3 hours guaranteed when you come in. We try to give you as much notice as possible, but its often as little as an hour notice because people book last minute.
• Because its an on-call job, we're really flexible with whatever you need off if you give us a heads up.
• Phone policy: You can have and use your phone, if it starts to affect your performance, you'll be advised to knock it off. After a few times, we just let you go.
• Snacks are always well stocked
• You would be working closely with the owner, who uses vulgarities alot.
• Free ample/easy parking.
• This job will have you questioning humanity and how some people are able to get dressed in the morning. That's literally not an exaggeration. Part of the gig is keeping this frustration to your self and keeping a smile on when dealing with customers.
• 420 Friendly, as long as you can work well.
• Starts at $14/hour, but raises are $1 minimum and come as you show your worth.
