 CNC machinist Leve 1. Process, program and setup prototype and production parts. 

2nd Shift Mon - Thurs 3PM - 1:30AM

Job Description: 

Essential Job Functions: 

  Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output 

  Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job 

  Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping 

  Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job 

 Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc. 

  Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues 

  Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects 

  Keep records of approved and defective units or final products 

Essential Job Requirements: 

Learning Calipers, gage pins, drills, drivers, etc [entry level measuring devices & tools]  

• Loading Production Parts  

• Machine upkeep/cleanliness and maintenance  

• Material identification, job I.D. stickers  

• Tool Crib organization  

• Dumping chips and recycling  

• Understanding Traveler paperwork  

• In process inspection techniques  

• Loading program (how to load a program in CNC for the right job in machine) and Dry Run Program setting tools on CNC machines  

• Setting up vise and indicating it in  

• Setting zero offsets on CNC Machines  

• Cut lathe pie jaws  

• Cutting tool knowledge[choose the correct type of tool for material being cut]  

• Manual inspection devices, entry level surface plate inspection [3 points of flatness]  

Qualifications and Education Requirements: 

• Good knowledge of GD&T. 

• General math skills. Including basic trigonometry and algebra. 

• High school diploma or GED
