Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in various accounting software. The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s financial operations. Bilingual preferred, Spanish/ English.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately recorded.
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of payroll-related accounts.
- Manage accounts payable functions related to payroll, including processing deductions and adjustments.
- Utilize payroll software such as BBSI, ADP, and Excel, ProContractor to manage employee records and payroll data.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data management regarding new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to payroll metrics and compliance.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide support as needed.
Requirements
- Bilingual - Spanish/ English
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role with a strong understanding of payroll processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as BBSI, ADP, and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with financial concepts and regulations related to payroll management.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees and management.
