Nino Development is partnered with a reputable Structural Steel Fabricator in greater Augusta, GA on their search for a Structural Steel Detailer with expertise in SDS/2 software to join our team.
As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed shop drawings and fabrication documents for structural steel components. This position requires experience in steel detailing and a strong understanding of construction processes, including material handling, design, and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed structural steel shop drawings using SDS/2 software.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, and project drawings to produce accurate detailing for steel fabrication.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to ensure design intent is accurately captured in the detailing process.
- Review and ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and specifications.
- Provide support during the fabrication and construction phases, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the steel components.
- Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between steel structures and other building systems.
- Ensure that all detailing work meets project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer, with expertise in SDS/2 software.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of industry standards, including AISC, AWS, and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with clash detection and coordination between structural steel and other building systems is a plus.
