For immediate start, we’re looking for a new Metal Building System Draftsman & Detailer responsible for creating permit, construction and shop drawings using both proprietary and CAD software.
Your New Role:
- Draft and detail permit and construction versions of drawings of pre-engineered building systems using industry-specific design software (MBS) alongside AutoCAD, Revit, Advance Steel, Tekla, etc.
- Create fabrication drawings and detail components, connections and other parts
- Create 3D drawings of self-supporting mezzanine industrial floor systems
- Work with in-house engineering team to answer questions about drawings and provide solutions to problems
- Checking bills of materials with drawings
- Other duties as needed
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in drafting role, with pre-engineered or structural steel experience preferred
- Proficiency with 3D drawings (i.e., CAD/AutoCAD, Revit, MBS, Tekla, etc.) strongly preferred
- Associate’s degree with focus in steel design or architecture preferred, although not required
- Knowledge of metal building standards for detailing a definite plus
- Proficient in algebra and trigonometry
- Proficient in Excel and Word with excellent computer skills
- Must have ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks, work efficiently with minimal supervision and be detail oriented
