What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at NITROcrete?
POSITION SUMMARY
Field Technicians are responsible for the safe and timely installation and service of NITROcrete NAT systems on concrete batch plants across North America. Technicians ensure the proper function of systems while maintaining excellent communication with HQ, regional management and customers. Maintain and calibrate systems on-site, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform and supervise the installation and service of NITROcrete systems at customer locations
· Accommodate and work with customer’s site configuration as part of installation
· Resolve issues and problem-solve during installation and maintenance of NITROcrete systems
· Observe, test and verify the installation meets specifications
· Assist in calibrating and commissioning new systems
· Understand and follow project scopes and timelines
· Conduct job safety analysis prior to installation and ensure safe work procedures are followed throughout each project
· Provide customer support after installation to troubleshoot, service and maintain the system
· Support and supervise contractors as they install or perform work on NITROcrete systems
· Read, understand and follow equipment installation instructions and wiring schematics
· Create, update and manage service tickets
· Locally source materials and supplies, such as tools. Equipment, or replacement prats when required
· Assist in the fabricating and assembling of NITROcrete system components out of the Colorado factory
· Adherence to all company policies including professionalism and safe work practices
· Perform duties outdoor in extreme weather conditions, particularly extreme heat
· Must be able to drive for long periods of time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May indirectly supervise less experienced technicians or contractors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-2 years in aggregate manufacturing or construction for Field Tech I; 3-5 years’ experience in aggregate manufacturing or construction for Field Tech II.
Core Competencies
· Clean Safety record
· Must be willing to travel as needed (up to 75%). This entails travel across the US via company vehicle and airline.
· Must be willing to work and travel irregular hours when required
· Fabrication, plumbing and/or electrical experience preferred
· Experience operating man-lift, telehandler, and forklift preferred
· Ability to guide, direct and lead others
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Ability to work in small teams, independently and efficiently with little supervision
· Basic computer knowledge required (email (Gmail), Microsoft office, etc)
· Concrete maintenance experience preferred
· Valid passport highly preferred, required for Field Tech II, or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire
Language
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
Must be able to work in all weather conditions, particularly extreme heat. You must be able to stand and walk for majority of the day, lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
