Accounting Manager

Noble Gas Solutions, an Air Water America Inc. company, is a gas distribution and welding supply company headquartered in Albany, NY that specializes in delivering industrial and pure-grade gases to the manufacturing, specialty, and medical industries. Noble is a trusted partner for customers requiring a premier supplier of gases and associated products, cylinder management services, equipment rentals, and technical expertise. We have retail stores in Albany, Kingston, South Glens Falls, and Utica NY and service customers across upstate New York’s Tech Valley region as well as Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to become an integral part of our Finance team!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing the daily functions of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, with a strong emphasis on billing, collections, and cash application.
• Support new customer setup process, including reviewing credit references and assigning credit limits and terms.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to emails related to customer billing issues.
• Calculate and record accruals, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and review variances for the monthly and annual closing processes.
• Review and record employee expenses.
• Support financial statement preparation.
• Maintain accurate and organized records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly tax reporting.
• Direct support to the Controller for all current and upcoming projects.
• Provide backup support as needed.
• Perform internal audits and assist with the annual audit.
• Comply with, monitor, and assist in, the development of internal controls.
• Research, analyze, and resolve variances and other accounting issues timely and consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Develop, document, and implement efficient processes with interdepartmental team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in accounting and finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suites with advanced Excel knowledge.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Manufacturing or welding gas industry experience.
• Advanced ERP and Accounting software user, especially TIMS.
• Familiar with Microsoft PowerBI or cube reporting.
• Two or more years of management experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time and file, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. 

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
