Summary of Duties

Responsible for business development for community business lines using independent judgment and discretion. Direct admission process between potential residents, sponsors, physicians, other referral sources, and the facility staff to efficiently evaluate and admit residents. Develop marketing strategies for referral source development. Secure and process all admission agreements.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop marketing plan for community business lines.
  2. Plan and coordinate special events and outreach marketing activities for purposes of business development.
  3. Screen/assess all appropriate referrals for admission and discusses potential for admission with the staff.
  4. Direct and process admissions and serve as the liaison to referral sources.
  5. Coordinate admissions with necessary staff to ensure a smooth flow of information and activity.
  6. Supervise the Hospitality Coordinator and work closely with this position to achieve community census and marketing goals.
  7. Serve as initial point-of-contact for referrals/inquires, alongside the Hospitality Coordinator.
  8. Secure and process admission agreements.
  9. Handle referrals, tours, and telephone inquires.
  10. Provide input to marketing material development and ensure an adequate supply is maintained.
  11. Work with Business Office to ensure accurate compilation of daily occupancy reports, posting of data on occupancy board and maintenance of an exact census count by payor source.
  12. Maintain an accurate record of available beds.
  13. Conduct rounds and provide information to appropriate staff to ensure room readiness and maintain facility aesthetics.
  14. Assume additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned or needed.
  15. Monitor sales/marketing performance against established goals and recommend future plans and programs and/or changes in it to the Executive Director.
  16. Monitor completion of all sales/marketing tracking systems and reports required by Executive Director and Home Office.
  17. Develop all community employees as representatives of the community, reinforcing their roles in sales/marketing functions and ambassadors of the community.
  18. Work with Home Office on all marketing material development and media advertising.
  19. Coordinate public relations activities with Home Office, including media contact, feature story opportunities with media and major event planning.

Education and Experience

Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or closely related field preferred. Equivalent in professional accreditation and/or career experience may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years experience in case management, discharge planning, and marketing required. Long term care/skilled nursing admissions experience preferred.

Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions

  1. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand intermittently throughout the workday.
  2. Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.
  3. Must be able to work with hands and fingers throughout the workday.
  4. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
