The Buyer Level 3 at Nomad GCS is a mid-level role requiring advanced skills in purchasing and supplier management. This individual will independently handle complex purchasing processes, negotiate contracts, and lead supplier evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and improve cost efficiency.
- Negotiate, renegotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and favorable terms.
- Lead supplier evaluations based on cost, quality, service, and reputation, making recommendations for supplier selection and improvement.
- Analyze market trends, pricing proposals, and financial reports to inform purchasing decisions.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and resolve issues promptly.
- Manage inventory levels to maintain adequate stock and minimize overstock or shortages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production and Finance, to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services.
- Conduct training and provide mentorship and guidance to junior buyers.
- Prepare and present procurement reports and analysis to senior management.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
- Expertise in procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, cost analysis, and market trend evaluation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and lead procurement initiatives with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Professional office environment with regular interaction with guests, clients, team members, and vendors.
- Typical indoor manufacturing environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required when on the production floor.
- Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
- Subject to temperatures fluctuations if/when job duties require time on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a mid-level or leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in contract negotiations, supplier evaluations, and managing complex procurement processes.
- Advanced skills in inventory management and data analysis.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a leader within a team.
