The Technical Writer at Nomad GCS creates, simplifies, and documents policies and procedures. They are responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining documentation that supports WFD training and professional development. This role involves producing clear, concise and user-0friendly materials; including manuals, guides, online help content, and training modules. The technical writer collaborates closely with SMEs, instructional designers, and stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
Documentation Creation and Maintenance:
· Develop and update training manuals, user guides, Standard Work Instructions (SWI), and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
· Create online help content, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
Content Collaboration:
· Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand technical aspects and develop applicable documentation.
Editing and Proofreading:
· Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Content Organization and Management:
· Organize and structure content logically for ease of use.
· Manage version control and documentation updates.
Research and Analysis:
· Research industry trends and best practices.
· Analyze user feedback to enhance content effectiveness.
Content Delivery:
· Format and publish documents in various formats.
· Ensure accessibility and usability of published materials.
Quality Assurance:
· Conduct usability testing to meet user needs.
· Design and implement a system for user feedback then apply to continuous improvement.
Project Management:
· Manage documentation projects, timelines, and deliverables.
· Prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Compliance and Standards:
· Ensure documentation complies with regulations and industry standards.
· Maintain confidentiality and data security in documentation practices.
Team Work:
· Support Document Clerks in the management of communication, policies, and procedures.
Other Duties:
· Take on additional duties as assigned.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
· Understanding of technical writing standards and methodologies.

· Experience with documentation tools and content management systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
· Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Professional office environment with regular interaction with guests, clients, team members, and vendors.
· Typical indoor manufacturing environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required when on the production floor.
· Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
· Subject to temperatures fluctuations if/when job duties require time on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or related field.
· 3-5 years of proven experience in technical writing or instructional design.
· Experience in workforce development or employee training preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content creation tools.
· Familiarity with CMS and version control systems.
· Strong portfolio demonstrating effective documentation and training materials.
