Job Summary
">We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Federal Programs Coordinator to join our team at Nomeschools. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Federal Programs, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and preparing written materials.
Key Responsibilities

- Monitor various activities on behalf of assigned administrators, ensuring timely completion and compliance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements. ">
- Oversee work activities within the office, organizing assignments, monitoring progress, and ensuring completion within established guidelines. ">
- Prepare and process complex written materials, including correspondence, agendas, minutes, event programs, bulletins, reports, and other documents. ">
- Schedule a wide range of activities, setting priorities and making necessary arrangements for special school initiatives or events. ">
- Work as a migrant recruiter under the district's Title I-C program, following the MEP Recruitment Guide and entering required information into the Migrant web system. ">
- Attend required training for assessments and migrant programming, which may involve out-of-district travel. ">
- Act as the main contact for all migratory education programming and parent outreach. ">
- Support teachers in developing curriculum maps and pacing guides for K-12, emphasizing culturally relevant resources and alignment with Alaska Cultural Standards. ">
- Maintain and safeguard confidential files. ">
- Assist with various district assessments and take required professional development training to handle district assessment documents. ">
- Perform a wide range of administrative duties, including maintaining student files, updating PowerSchool, creating purchase orders, ordering supplies, and assembling backpacks. ">
- Support the Director of Federal Programs in their functions and responsibilities. ">
Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will require:

- Experience working in an office setting or school/district environment. ">
- Strong organizational and communication skills. ">
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ">
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online systems such as the MEP system. ">
- Knowledge of cultural values, indigenous ways of learning and knowing, and cultural practices for the Bering Strait region. ">
