What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Research Assistant position at Noor Staffing Group?
This position is responsible for fulfilling document delivery, docket, and case procurement
requests using traditional and online sources (Lexis , Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Internet,
PACER, and a variety of additional commercial and local providers), and other light legal
research requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for obtaining requested items via document delivery in a timely and cost-
efficient manner.
Coordinates requests for materials from third party libraries and interlibrary loans where
applicable.
Purchase reference materials from third party vendors as requested.
Answers ready reference requests as needed.
Provide backup support for head librarian as needed.
Process library vendor invoices.
Manage database vendor password access.
Assists in orientation of new attorneys to library services, procedures, and policies.
Perform other projects at the request of head librarian.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Undergrad degree in related field; Master’s degree in Library and Information Science highly
preferred.
Prior library experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
Working knowledge of LexisNexis, Westlaw, PACER, Bloomberg BNA; highly developed
skills in conducting internet searches.
