Summary:
The Payroll Administrator will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and provide excellent customer service to our employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:
· Process weekly payroll for hourly, salaried, and union employees using the company’s payroll system.
· Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws, including overtime, meal breaks, and rest periods.
· Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments.
Compliance and Record-Keeping:
· Maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
· Stay up to date on federal, state, and local tax regulations and implement necessary changes.
· Stay up to date on annual union increases and update accordingly.
· Prepare and submit weekly payroll tax filings and other regulatory reports, as required.
Employee Support:
· Address payroll-related inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely support to employees and management.
· Assist with onboarding new employees, including setting up direct deposit and tax documentation.
Reporting and Audits:
· Prepare payroll reports for HR, accounting, and management teams.
· Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
System Management:
· Manage and update the payroll system, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
· Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
· 2 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the construction or utility services industry.
· Familiarity with union payroll and collective bargaining agreements.
Required Skills:
· Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Viewpoint, Timberline, ProContractor).
· Strong understanding of California labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
