Job Description
Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Accounts Payable Manager position. The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for oversight of Norco’s Accounts payable operations. The role oversees and directs all accounts payable processing and procedures, supervising and coaching department staff, and ensuring compliance. Problem solving includes vendor account complex error investigation and resolution. Impact includes potential for significant operational and financial implications. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership to the team and offer guidance and mentorship
- Work to provide a positive and collaborative atmosphere with a focus on Norco’s purpose and values
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of payables and payment runs
- Provide coverage for team members in their absence
- Supervise accounts payable team to ensure vendor invoices are entered on a timely basis and are accurately and properly coded
- Communicate with vendors, staff, branches and management to address issues and complex inventory discrepancies
- Interacts with all levels of Norco management
- Develop and monitor department metrics
- Assist with testing and implementation of changes with the ERP system
- Assist with development and updates of department documentation tools
- Work with internal partners to develop automated solutions
- Ensure vendors are setup accurately and in compliance with 1099 filing requirements and administer program for issuance of 1099 forms at year end
- Manage vendor relationships, including payment terms and options for payment to optimize cash flow
- Function as the subject matter expert for Accounts Payable with the company’s ERP system
- Monitor and resolve outstanding issues on unpaid receiving’s report as required
- Hire, train, lead, and evaluate team, as needed and coordinate staffing schedules, track employee attendance, punctuality, and PTO
- Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field OR any combination of education, training, and experience that provides equivalent necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
- Four (4) years direct accounts payable experience required
- Two (2) years' supervisory experience
- Ability to adapt to and manage changing priorities
- Ability to be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to make decisions using good judgement
- Ability to effectively manage, motivate and provide leadership to staff
- Ability to work in frequently high stress situations
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Strong understanding of vendor tax reporting requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Project Management methodology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze financial data, identify problems and implement solutions
- Working knowledge of TIMS database preferred
