What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager position at NORDIC SKIING ASSOCIATION OF ANCHORAGE INC?
The program manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the NSAA’s programs as well as assisting with NSAA events, ensuring their smooth and efficient operation in a manner that supports the mission and values of NSAA. The program manager will work with the Executive Director, Event Manager, NSAA Board, staff, and volunteers to oversee event and program operations, including budgeting of programs, fundraising (if needed), registration and publicity, and reporting and tracking. The program manager is expected to be able to work independently with minimal supervision, using initiative and judgment in dealing with workflow and most situations.
Responsibilities
- Direct, manage, organize, support, and promote NSAA programs.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding programs.
- Submit and monitor permits for programs.
- Manage Program registration and updates.
- Manage and update NSAA’s Website for program-related content.
- Manage biathlon range use and maintenance of the facility.
- Write foundation reports and proposals and research new foundation grant opportunities.
- Assist with donor recognition for program-restricted gifts.
- Assist with social media.
- Assist with NSAA promotional events.
- Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director, Events Manager, and NSAA staff regarding current trends, issues, and activities amongst NSAA core programs.
- Support other NSAA staff as needed.
- Successfully complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively utilize social media for the benefit of the organization.
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Familiarity with Apple Computers, Google Business Suite, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to interact in a pleasant, professional manner will all types of people and to perform under pressure in an environment where frequent interruptions are common.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including funders and volunteers.
- Event and Program Management experience.
- Marketing and communications experience, graphic design, and advertising experience preferred.
- Fundraising experience, including grant writing, tracking, and reporting, is preferred.
- A background in skiing is preferred.
