The Cardiovascular Imaging Technologist at Norman Regional Health System plays a crucial role in preparing and operating equipment during cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient care and maintaining a sterile environment. This position involves serving as a preceptor for new staff and collaborating closely with cardiologists to provide excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition, prepares, positions, and provides patient care.
- Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
- Serves as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff.
- Uses downtime effectively by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks assigned by the Charge person or manager.
- Maintains strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to facilitate excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) with the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
