GENERAL SUMMARY
The Tool and Die Maker reports to the Tooling Manager. This position works with the Leaders as a Tool & Die to develop and maintain efficient and reliable tooling processes to the Production Department. Troubleshoot any problems that are presented during production or on the bench.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Work from tool room schedule to ensure that production tooling and equipment is ready to meet customer requirements
Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses
Work on production equipment when necessary to maintain production
Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep these areas organized
Maintain clean work areas
Work with outside tradesman as required
Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, &/or improvements
Work with Engineers to create &/or modify prints to reflect changes
Perform Preventive maintenance by assignment
Willing to accept other additional job duties from next level leader.
Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production
Suggest methods of improvement (Continuous Improvement Plan)
SALARY / BENEFITS
Pay Range $26.50/hr - $32.50/hr
This position is eligible for Performance Bonus. These bonuses are added to your hourly rate and can be as much as $3/hr.
7.5% Shift Premium if applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Certified Toolmaker or 5 years’ experience in Tool and Die field preferred
Apprenticeship Program completion preferred
Experience:
Three (3) years Tool and Die Maker experience.
Personal/Technical Skills:
Demonstrated basic computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Demonstrated reading and comprehension skills.
Self-motivated, self-directed and able to make and meet specific goals in the Tooling Department
Willing to learn or possess computer skills including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD
Willing to learn simple electronics for sensor program assistance
Training:
IATF16949 / ISO14001 / toolmaker baseline training
TQPS Continuous Improvement training
Mistake Proofing Philosophy, Forklift Certification
Overhead Crane Certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.
