This position is in the DMV Liability Insurance Unit. In this position you will be responsible for interpreting customer’s files, generating proper correspondence, and entering civil penalties and restoration fees when there is lapse in insurance. This position will assist the motoring public in reference to complex registration and insurance-related case files regarding incorrect information, insurance penalties or correspondence received from the customer. This position will research and respond to customer inquirers, carefully examine all fees for license plate renewals, open and close cash drawers and balance money at the end of each workday. This position will enter forms, approve refunds and post checks to insurance files daily to clear or update customer accounts. This position will also perform verifications which includes receiving incoming calls from License Plate Agency (LPA) representatives via email and by faxed information. This position will use mainframe programs such as STARS, LITES and SADLS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Knowledge of office/ work unit procedures, methods, and practices.
- Considerable Knowledge of computer skills and MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task including compiling, assimilating, and organizing both printed and electronic information
- Demonstrated ability to review and process information to assess compliance and to determine conclusions and actions based on applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Experience receiving and accurately processing all types of monetary funds.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
