About the Department | The Classification and Compensation Department is within NC State University Human Resources and is responsible for administering, overseeing, and managing the classification systems and compensation programs as well as the administration and oversight of federal regulations and state policies for University positions subject to and exempt from the NC State Human Resources Act (SHRA and EPS positions). The department is also responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining compensation programs and initiatives for Faculty, Staff and Senior Academic and Administrative Officers. |
Essential Job Duties | The Classification and Compensation Consultant serves as a strategic partner to NC State, playing an important role within the University's classification and compensation infrastructure. By providing guidance and insight, this position ensures that human resources (HR) practices are aligned with both university and state policies, creating fair and competitive position management and compensation structures that attract and retain top talent. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience | Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions. |
