What are the responsibilities and job description for the YEAH! Program Coordinator position at North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council, Inc.?
This position will serve as the YEAH! Program Coordinator for the North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council, Inc. and will implement comprehensive sexuality education and youth development programming in schools and community organizations in Lewis County, particularly the Lowville School District community. This position will use established, research-based curriculum and resources (i.e. Health Smart, Our Whole Lives, Safe Dates etc.), techniques, and best practices related to adolescent sexual health and youth development. This position will utilize a variety of delivery methods to provide information and training in pregnancy prevention, decision making, and other skills building in schools and group settings. Program topics will include, but are not limited to: contraception, decision making, HIV/AIDS, communication skills, and LGBTQ issues. This position will coordinate with other community providers and the school district to provide youth development opportunities to young people and raise awareness of adolescent health issues in the community.
To be considered, candidates must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in health, education, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience relevant to the role of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when necessary.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
