Description & Details :
- Establish and maintain high horticulture standards and practices; provide direction and training for the staff, interns, and seasonal employees.
- Operate equipment required to transport, hang baskets, and plant flowers (i.e. aerial I utility vehicles, small tractors).
- Monitor and correct floral diseases, disorders and pests with the Facilities Management greenhouses and garden areas.
- Manage and support overall plant health and soil nutrition strategies for all gardens to include integrated pest management in the greenhouses and outdoor gardens.
- Provide hands-on leadership while working in the daily horticulture tasks of the exterior gardens and greenhouses.
- Provide detailed records of tree and shrub maintenance activities including historical information.
- Performs other related duties normally associated with maintenance of flowers and gardens.
- Coordinates the heating and cooling of greenhouses, greenhouse irrigation schedules and systems and maintenance of any horticulture related equipment.
- Establish and oversee a systematic plant records planting procedure to include design of campus flowerbeds.
- Performs other related duties normally associated with horticultural activities for two greenhouses and the propagation of 75,000 = / - plants annually.
- Provide assistance to the Assistant Coordinator
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday / 7 : 30am - 4 : 00pm. The work day times can be seasonally modified to support snow removal and plant propagation activities.
