What are the responsibilities and job description for the ISS Monitor - Krueger Middle School position at North East Independent School District?
EDUCATION :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Three years experience as an Instructional Assistant or forty-eight (48) semester college hours**, or an equivalent combination of training and experience with a working knowledge and understanding of child growth and development (**Forty-eight (48) semester college hours required for Title I Schools only)
CERTIFICATION :
Paraprofessional Certification as required by the State Board and the District
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
Monitors students who have been referred to a self-contained classroom for a designated time for disciplinary infractions. Paraprofessionals may provide instruction provided they are working under the direct supervision of a "highly qualified teacher" (Title I Schools Only).
1. Supervises students referred and enforces the established rules for this program.
2. Provides assistance to students with work that has been provided.
3. Ensures that students have work sent to them by their teachers.
4. Monitors students to insure they remain on task and complete assigned work.
5. Answers questions that students may ask.
6. Takes attendance and keeps all paperwork that comes from the office up to date.
7. Maintains required records.
8. Maintain confidentiality of information.
9. Reports to work on time every day.
10. Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and drug testing

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The individual must pass a pre-employment physical examination to include vision, hearing, alcohol and drug testing.
