EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Provide bid processing support and maintain quotes for all commonly used goods and services for the District.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for writing bid specifications, processing bids, evaluating and recommending awards for all commonly used goods and services for the District.
2. Responsible for originating, updating and originating the Purchasing Tips Manual for the District.
3. Responsible cyclical bids and bid scheduling.
4. Receives and responds to vendor inquires relating to bid awards.
5. Responsible for supporting all activity related bids including specification preparation, vendor notification, tabulation preparation, receipt of vendor bids and analyzing information per state law.
6. Receives and records bid responses at public bid opening.
7. Originates purchase orders and award letters.
8. Supports department personnel for completion of information in all bid files for audit.
9. Supports department personnel for completion of documentation, analysis and tracking of all vendors.
10. Originates and updates various spread sheets and data bases in order to track and evaluate purchasing functions and activities.
11. Maintains confidentiality of information.
12. Reports to work on time every day.
13. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear .The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
