FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST (PRIVATE PRACTICE) IMMEDIATE OPENING.
(Woburn, MA)
Under the direction of the Front Desk Supervisor, this position is responsible for optimizing patient flow through accurate, timely scheduling, check in/check out of patients, co-pay and deductible collections revenue, demographic and insurance entry, medical record maintenance and in obtaining referral/authorization numbers as needed.
Job Duties Include:
· Schedule on site patients into practice management system, ensuring all demographic, insurance and any referral/authorization numbers are on file prior to appt.
· Review appointment list seven days in advance to ensure member’s insurance is eligible and self-pay patients are notified of their balance due upon arrival.
· Check in patients upon arrival; ensure demographic/insurance information is updated in system, including email and cell phone. Collect co-pay, deductible or balance owing or make arrangements for payment plan as necessary.
· Assist with customer service issues; respond to customer concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
· Responsible for outgoing calls in order to collect patient balances or collect insurance information, referral and authorizations numbers or other missing information as required.
· Responsible for reconciling deposits of co-pays posted to daily batch, resolve unclosed time of service batches and confirm all co-pays posted are received for deposit as directed by FD Supervisor.
· Responsible for in-coming medical record requests and ensuring authorization and payment is received before releasing records.
· Adhere to the HIPAA guidelines regarding confidentiality relating to the release of financial and medical information; provide for maintenance of confidentiality of patient records and communications.
· Communicates effectively and respectfully with all internal and external customers.
· Punctuality, dependability and reliability are key requirements for the position; work assigned hours. Reliable transportation is a must.
· Must possess a calm demeanor and an ability to adapt to change. Along with multi-tasking.
· Required attendance for monthly meetings (usually first Wednesday of the month).
This position requires: minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in a medical office, computer skills, dependability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a team player attitude, and ability to take direction.
Availability is Monday - Friday, Daytime hours. Experience with Epic is a plus but we will train if needed. Salary commensurate with experience.
