Overview:
Nestled in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, Northampton Country Club is a family-friendly private Club offering its members a variety of services throughout the year. Being a family-friendly Club, a focus of our team is the inclusion of our younger members in day-to-day activities, especially in the summer months. The Swim Team Coach is responsible for developing, leading and coaching NCC’s swim team. This role focuses on fostering a positive and competitive environment, improving swimmers’ skills, and coordinating swim meets and practices with a safety minded approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train and lead NCC lifeguards to assist at practice and meets
- Analyze swim techniques and determine skill levels of swim team participants
- Plan and lead swim team practices, focusing on skill development, technique, and endurance.
- Provide individualized feedback to swimmers to improve performance and confidence.
- Organize and coordinate swim meets, including scheduling, logistics, and communication with opposing teams.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that promotes sportsmanship and club values.
- Communicate regularly with swimmers, parents, and club management regarding schedules, progress, and expectations.
- Collaborate with General Manager and Director of Operations on ways to enhance Swim Team experience
- Maintain accurate records of swimmer attendance, performance, and meet results.
- Communicate with membership in scheduling individualized swimming lessons and clinics for all ages throughout the summer season
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines during practices and meets.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching swim teams or competitive swimming background.
- Strong knowledge of swim techniques and training methods.
- Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (preferred).
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and meet schedules.
