What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Specialist-Human Resources position at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center?
Performs a variety of clerical support to the staff members of the department to include answering telephones, receiving visitors, maintaining filing system for active and inactive personnel files, ordering and maintaining supplies, logging applicant flow. Assists staff members in other areas as time permits.
Answers telephone and routes calls to appropriate department members.
Greets and routes visitors, applicants and employees to appropriate area.
Coordinates monthly General Orientation classes Assists employees with benefits.
Initiates Education folders.
Makes ID badges.
Data entry of all new employees into the Kronos payroll system.
Help the HRIS with data entry as needed.
Begin and end Benefits (BCBS, VSP, LTD, STD, etc) problems and errors.
Answer the State of Alabama Unemployment claims.
Records keeping/filing; manually and electronically.
Process 403(b) new enrollments.
BLS (Basic Life Support) instructor - occasionally help the Education Department with BLS classes.
High school or equivalent; prefer some secretarial training beyond high school.
Prefer prior clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of routine office machines (i.e., copier, fax, telephone, calculator, typewriter), personal computer. Computer software knowledge preferred to include WordPerfect/Microsoft Word and Lotus/Excel.
Detailed-oriented; organizational skills and ability to communicate with staff of all levels.
