SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
As our Intake Worker at NeMCMHA, you’ll develop and complete Intake Assessments on children, adolescents, and adults requesting services from the agency. You will also be an active member of the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Team and collaborate with other staff in diagnosing problems and evaluating consumers as needed. Your ability to provide accurate assessment and diagnosis for persons requesting Mental Health Services in accordance to the DSM V-TR will take center stage in this role, and your compassion and interpersonal skills will serve you well.
Rate of Pay: $58,552 - $80,891.20
FLSA: Non-Exempt/Causal
Reports To: ACCESS / ESU Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters Degree from a recognized or accredited institution with course work in mental health and licensed by the State of Michigan as a LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, LLP. Will be required to maintain highest degree of licensure or state registration specific to their position.
Experience: One or more years of relevant mental health experience preferred. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) are required. Functional computer literacy. Lived experience with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders valued.
Other: Good organizational and communication skills required. Functional computer literacy is required Must have valid Michigan Driver's license and a satisfactory driving as determined by the agency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate accurate biopsychosocial assessment and diagnosis for persons requesting Mental Health Services in accordance to the DSM V-TR (Or current edition).
2. Collaborates with other staff in diagnosing problems and evaluating individuals as needed.
3. Consults and collaborates with various agencies, individuals and organizations.
4. Actively participates as a member of the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Team.
5. Demonstrate effective case recording in accordance with Person Centered Planning, and NeMCMHA “Case Recording Guidelines”.
6. Will be required to maintain highest degree of licensure or state registration specific to their position.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of Universal precautions, standards of practice including but not limited to confidentiality and recipient rights, and emergency protocol.
8. Staff will be expected to participate in trainings aimed at the provision of services for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
9. Intake assessments will occur in an office or community setting.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs other duties, as required.
2. May be required to utilize their own transportation when performing Agency-related duties.
3. May be required to participate in the 24-hour emergency services through agency on-call system.
4. May be requested to be involved in the Board’s Quality Improvement Program.
