We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Specialist to join our team and specialize in adoption, licensing, and foster care. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving the lives of children and families, ensuring that foster children receive the best possible care, and helping navigate the adoption process for children in need of a forever family. Key Responsibilities:

  • Adoption Services:
  • Provide support to families through the adoption process.
  • Conduct home studies, assessments, and prepare families for adoption placements.
  • Facilitate post-placement support for adoptive families and children.
  • Foster Care Services:
  • Work closely with foster parents, providing training, guidance, and case management.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of children placed in foster care through regular visits and assessments.
  • Coordinate with community resources and support services for foster families.
  • Licensing Services:
  • Conduct home studies for prospective foster families.
  • Guide families through the licensing process, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide ongoing support and education to foster and adoptive families.
  • Case Management:
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with agency policies.
  • Collaborate with other child welfare professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and legal teams.
  • Prepare reports, attend court hearings, and participate in case planning meetings as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in child welfare, adoption, foster care, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of child protection laws, foster care regulations, and adoption procedures preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage caseloads and work independently while maintaining a high level of empathy and professionalism.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant child welfare trainings (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to all child safety and legal requirements.
