What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Billing Operator I position at NORTHEAST VALLEY HEALTH CORPORATION?
Definition:
The Patient Billing Operator I is an entry-level position that inputs patient charges, payments, and adjustments into a practice management system and assists with third-party claims processing.
Reports to: Billing & Collections Manager
Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
2. One year of patient billing experience or equivalent recent educational training.
3. Typing and data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements of 35 wpm.
4. Willing and able to learn the practice management computer system.
5. Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
6. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity to individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
7. Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).
8. The MIS Patient Information System access level is 2.
9. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.
10. Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage, and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
