Role Summary
The Labeling Technician will engage in proper labeling of specimen collection containers (e.g. test material containers, fluid collection tubes, cassettes, cage cards, etc.). This position is responsible for understanding protocol and SOP requirements as they pertain to labeling and must possess basic computer literacy. This is a non-exempt role that is eligible for overtime after 40 hours in a work week and has no supervisory responsibility.
Role Responsibilities
- Create labels for specimen collection containers using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or other appropriate means.
- Manage labeling change requests
- Verify specimen container labels to the work schedule and document as needed per protocol and standard operating procedures (SOP) using good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Manage multiple concurrent deadlines
- Operate labeling equipment and perform routine maintenance, as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized laboratory spaces and equipment.
- Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve labeling inconsistencies
- Other duties as assigned
