Position Description: Assist the Direct Support Supervisor (DSS) in maintaining a structured work environment that benefits the employees and the individuals receiving services. Act as a liaison between the DSS and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Ensuring that procedures are followed while suggesting ideas for streamlining processes. Provide person-centered support to individuals.
Job Duties Include:
- Demonstrate excellence in providing appropriate direct support to individuals using person-centered approaches and strategies.
- Effectively complete administrative tasks under the guidance of the DSS.
- Enhance professional relations among team members and their capacity to work effectively with others during the shift.
- Maintain professional boundaries regarding personal vs. professional issues, and support DSPs in maintaining healthy, professional boundaries.
- Under the direction of the DSS, the ADSS will teach, model, and coach DSPs in the most effective approaches to achieve direct support competencies.
- Provide onboarding to new employees, including mentor and peer-to-peer feedback, and coordinate and document employee participation in orientation, training, self-directed learning, and professional development activities.
- Maintain records (hard copies and electronic) by completing necessary documentation according to best practices.
- Provide feedback to the DSS regarding day-to-day performance.
- Be knowledgable about and ensure compliance with all Federal and State rules, regulations, and specific policies.
- Responsible for attending employee meetings, completing required training/education/certification, and continuing professional development.
- Responsible for using correct communication channels and delivering important messages to their supervisor.
- Responsible for working assigned shifts.
- Responsible for following NHTC's policies and procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- One year, or more, as an experienced and exceptional DSP.
- Use of Microsoft Office products and web-based apps.
Pay Rate: $19.58/hour
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday (10:00AM-6:00PM)
