The Assistant Dance Team Coach at Northwest Florida State College plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head Coach in leading our dance team to success, while promoting teamwork, discipline, and performance excellence.
Classification: Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour
Hours: Up to 29 hours per week
Location: Niceville Campus
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Assistant Dance Team Coach at Northwest Florida State College plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head Coach in leading our dance team to success, while promoting teamwork, discipline, and performance excellence.
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practice sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm to optimize team performance.
- Collaborate in choreographing, teaching, and refining dance routines for precision and artistic expression.
- Provide individual guidance and support to students, fostering their technical and personal growth.
- Participate in home basketball games and travel with the dance team to community events.
- Recruit, coach, and maintain a robust team of student-athletes.
- Conduct dance camps and clinics for promotion, fundraising, and recruitment.
- Ensure the dance team is engaged in multiple community events throughout the year.
- Help coordinate and supervise team activities and performances.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and serve as a positive role model for team members.
- Represent NWFSC at campus events, community events, college fairs, schools, and businesses in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associates of Arts degree or Associates of Science degree is required.
- Previous experience in dance coaching or as a competitive dancer, demonstrating a deep understanding of coaching principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in various dance styles and techniques, with the ability to effectively convey these to team members.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, inspiring and motivating team members to reach their full potential.
- Ability to collaborate closely with the Head Coach and other staff members to maintain a positive and cohesive team environment.
- Must be available evenings and some weekends to accommodate practice and performance schedules.
