Job Description : The coordinator reports to the Director, Health Sciences Certificate Programs, for the training of students in the skills required to become Certified Nursing Assistants. This position works with other faculty and administrators in the planning, implementing, and updating of the program and program materials. In coordination with the Director, the Program Coordinator will develop and maintain clinical affiliation agreements, clinical site information forms, logs and records, and other documentation pertaining to the program's clinical education curriculum and activities.The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carryout its mission.
- Teach courses in the Nursing Assistant program and maintain contemporary expertise in subject matter.
- Review courses in areas of syllabi, lesson plans, and testing; implement needed improvements.
- Maintain a faculty workload per College policy.
- Serve as program liaison with the Florida Board of Nursing.
- Maintain compliance with the Florida Board of Nursing reporting requirements.
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments.
- Develop and teach productive and constructive work habits, study skills, and core skills as identified by the college; and recognize the communications and human relations skills required for employment.
- Work with the Director to develop classroom and laboratory procedures, including safety, in accordance with identified local, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college grading requirements.
- Follow disciplinary procedures, as prescribed in college and program policy, and deal consistently and fairly with all students.
- Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual students.
- Participate in self-improvement activities and staff development in the assigned instructional area and technical field.
- Develop, monitor, and refine the clinical education component of the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other clinical faculty to facilitate quality learning experiences for students during clinical education.
- Attend faculty meetings and participate in department committees.
- Serve on college work groups as assigned and support other college initiatives.
- Participate in commencement ceremonies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Associate in Science in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Clear and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
- Two years of full time or equivalent professional nursing experience.
- One year of experience in nursing home services (care of the elderly or chronically ill of any age) including supervision of Certified Nursing Assistants.
- One year of experience in teaching adults and / or completed a course in teaching adults.
- Demonstrated evidence of professional development growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities.
